Mayookh (He/They) is a multi-media artist from Northeast India, pursuing a Ph.D. in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Southern California and a certificate in Visual Studies.

He has an MFA from North Carolina State University. His work explores sexuality, art, mythology, education, and family through a queer South Asian lens. He has received the Anthony Veasna So Fiction Award, the USC Del Amo Foundation Research Award, and MOZAIK Philanthropy’s Future Art Writers Award. He has been supported as a MacDowell Fellow, Lambda Literary Fiction Fellow and Roots.Wounds.Words Fellow.

He is currently querying his first novel.
